Summer fun has been great, but let’s face it, it’s hard on our hair, face, body and feet. Now is the time to squeeze another couple of weeks out of that glowing tan you worked/or didn’t work so hard for, repair that hair and stop those dogs from barking... |
||
Here’s some of my “Head to Toe” favorites…
Step 1 - Hair
Suffering the damaging effects of sun, seawater or chlorinated pool water? Huile de Palme by Leonor Greyl is a perfect blend of botanical oils that detangles, nourishes and restores damaged hair.
Apply Huile de Palme evenly to dry lengths and ends, brush hair to ensure even distribution. The oil should be left on for up to 10 minutes or all night if desired and then use the shampoo suitable for your hair type.
Step 2 - Face
The perfect remedy to dull dry skin, reveal your skin’s true radiance with this Milk Facial Exfoliant from Farmaesthetics. Gentle enough to use in daily cleansing or apply weekly as a "mask" to further the effects of the milk's natural lactic acid to soften, brighten, and revive the complexion. It contains only dried powdered milk, cornmeal, and organic herbs and flowers.
Milk has been used throughout the ages to enhance beauty. It is well known that even Cleopatra used sweet milk for beautifying and brightening her complexion. Traditional rural cultures have also used sweet milk in beauty treatments, making it as familiar on a dressing table as in the kitchen cupboard.
All the enhancement a girl needs after Labor Day.
Step 3 - Body
Lavender products are a great way to soothe and nourish your skin after the dry and hot summer months. Beauty Through Balance offers a Lavender Soy Exfoliation as a gentle scrub made with fine natural grains that will help soften, smooth and moisturize the skin. Follow with an application of the Lavender Soy Lotion which is a light non-greasy formula of pure Lavender extract, essential oils and natural soy. This lotion is sure to promote the healing of skin that has endured the elements of the summer months. For an additional indulgence try the Lavender Olive Rich Foaming Bath.
Step 4 - Feet
Akhassa’s Amala Herbal Therapy Gift Set for the feet are what the spa doctor ordered! Pamper your weathered and tired feet with this healing recipe so fragrant to include a collection of Kaffir Lime Foot Soak, Ginger Foot Compress and Lemongrass Foot Cream.
The Kaffir Lime Foot Soak will provide beneficial nutrients to relieve aching feet. Sprinkle a handful of seas salts into warm water and stir gently. Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes.
Soak the Ginger Foot Compress in water then heat in the microwave for 1 minute. Apply compress to the pressure points outlined in the 9 step foot and leg massage guide. This foot compress well-known for its detoxifying and warming properties will soothe away tension in the lower leg and feet.
Last but certainly not least, the Lemongrass Foot Cream is a nourishing Shea Butter that helps your feet recover their natural softness while the cooling and tingling sensation of Lemongrass refreshes your senses. Apply on the feet and legs with circular movements. For maximum benefits apply cream and put on cotton socks and leave overnight.
