Teava Skincare, Miriam Kleinman

Miriam Kleinman is the Creator and President of Teava, LLC, an advanced natural skincare company that utilizes the unique natural benefits of tea.

Miriam's love of science led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Michigan State University, where she began and continues to perform extensive biological research in academia and biotechnology. She is now attaining her PhD in Toxicology at Wayne State University.

Miriam used her background in science while consulting for a tea company. She realized that tea held a multitude of benefits not only when ingesting it, but especially when using it topically. Miriam wanted to begin an anti-aging regime, and found that tea's potent antioxidants could heal and prevent skin damage naturally. Her passion for science and using natural elements led to Teava's creation.

"I have always had a fascination with using the world around us to its fullest potential," says Miriam. "I love how there are so many possibilities with tea because it is such a unique and complex plant."

Miriam's ethical responsibility has led her to ban parabens from Teava's products, as well as to ensure that none of its products are tested on animals.

Miriam has bridged nature, science, and beauty to bring entrepreneurial business to Detroit and make a positive impact on her hometown.
