Julie Nostrand, Founder and Managing Member of South Seas Skin Care, LLC, graduated from Colorado State University in 1994. She was successful as a marketing manager for an International firm for eight (8) years. In 1997, she was diagnosed with skin cancer. After successful treatment, she embarked on a venture that would change her life dramatically.
In 2000, she discovered a revolutionary way to tan known as spray tanning. She left her firm and opened the Sunless Tan Spa of Fort Collins. During her first year as a Spa owner, she tanned over 2,500 clients. After spraying so many people, she developed a technique which revolutionized the spray tanning industry. Also, she discovered that the solution she was purchasing was inconsistent. So, she worked with several chemists until she perfected what is now “South Seas Tahitian Tan Solution” She also developed two new products to help supplement and prolong the tan. Those products were “Moorea Moisturizer” and “Bora Bora Body Polish”. Utilizing her marketing skill set, she began supplying several local spas and salons with equipment, solution and the limited product line. The solution was an instant success, as it was applicable to all skin types, without the orange color. As the wholesale division of South Seas grew, she realized she would need to sell the retail operation. The Sunless Tan Spa was sold in 2003.
Julie remained focused on providing the highest quality, all natural ingredients in her line. The tanning division earned her notoriety among some of Hollywood’s elite, including Mariah Carey, Anna Paquin and several notorious makeup artists, such as Maria Louise Featherstone and Brigitte Ellis. But, the body care division offered a complete line of products for the most luxurious spas and salons around the world, and catered to the most discerning clients.
South Seas® was voted “the Best of the Best” by Allure magazine two (2) years in a row, and Julie has been featured in the September 2008 issue of First for Women to discuss the benefits of one of South Seas® newest products...South Pacific Sunrise Coffee Scrub. The product line includes mineral make-up, body bronzing, body polishes, bath salts, tan extenders, self tanners, coffee scrubs, sugar scrubs, tanning mists and the newest “Bali Body Butter”. The entire line is paraben free and all the body products are 100% natural. South Seas® can be found in over 1,500 spas and salons worldwide. South Seas® continues to make waves in the body care industry.
Julie has been married to Cliff for 14 years and is the mother of three children,... Connor (13), Parker (11) & Morgan (10). She resides in Fort Collins, Colorado and travels to many spas across the country for product trainings. She has passion in every part of her life.
