“The absolute musts in Geneva are so numerous. I earned my love of the city from my father, who is originally Italian but has fallen in love with Geneva as he has lived here for so long. I see the city through his eyes. His favorite is the Jet d’Eau, a stunning fountain and one of the city's most famous landmarks. It is also one of the largest fountains in the world. Situated at the point where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhone River, it is visible throughout the city and from the air, even when flying over Geneva. Rue du Rhone for high end shopping for both men and women. If you are visiting or getting married the best is St. Pierre Cathedral, a gorgeous cathedral from the 12th century. Walking Lake Geneva and the cobbled streets of old town is especially lovely, I think the best way to see a city is to walk as much as possible so be sure to pack comfortable shoes. It is perfect to do with your family or with the object of your affection. In summer, for the sports-minded I absolutely recommend hiking in Interlaken and for cold weather skiing in Kleine Scheidegg. Physical activity is such a priority for Swiss people and there are some of the best options for outdoor sports within an hour of the city. After so much activity a quick trip to the spa is a necessity and my family’s spa, Forever Laser Institut, is always on the must list. It is the perfect blend of futuristic and true science which I think makes it very appealing to men as well as women. Finally finish off your journey with our favorite restaurant of all time, Auberge Communale d’Onex for dinner. It is certainly where the Polla family will be spending Father’s Day this year.
