Founded in 1993 in Bali, Indonesia, JAMU Asian Spa Rituals has become well known for its luxuriously-formulated Asian-inspired Organic and Natural skin and body care products, and education and training on unique ancient healing spa customs of Asia for spas. JAMU works closely with Balinese, Javanese and local communities to exclusively procure natural, certified organic ingredients for skin and body products, as well as eco-friendly packaging for use with JAMU’s traditional spa rituals and treatments. True to the founder’s vision, ingredients used to represent JAMU are indigenous to Asia, and products are biodegradable and people-tested only. JAMU also supports local communities in Indonesia and USA for the sourcing of high quality ingredients. The company leads the way for conscious retailing by allocating specific percentage of sales to be donated towards organizations such as UNICEF, Tsunami Relief Fund for Rebuilding of affected regions in Indonesia. A percentage of sales from JAMU’s NEW Healing Bath Salts will be given to IKAT.ORG for the development of schools for girls in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
About Kim Collier, Founder and Managing Director, JAMU
Kim Collier founded the company in 1993 while living in Bali with her husband, also a veteran in the spa industry. As a dancer and artist, Kim immersed herself happily and effortlessly with the local cultures, peoples and language, gaining their trust and unyielding friendship. And it was the therapist in Kim that prompted her to seek from local healers about their spa traditions and remedies, and learned to help preserve the declining art and science of indigenous Indonesian healing. Kim Collier’s faith in time-honored wellness remedies of Asia and her appreciation of indigenous cultures, practices and values, has launched one of today’s most noted luxury spa brands specializing in Asian spa rituals and philosophies. In addition to starting the company for Indonesian locals, Kim has slowly but surely groomed JAMU internationally to include celebrating the spa rituals of Thailand and Korea. Kim currently lives in Whitefish, Montana with her family, and continues to share her vision of promoting and protecting Asian spa cultures and heritage with a dedicated team of professionals around the world.
